Hyatt Sales Manager - MICE in LONDON, United Kingdom

As a Sales Manager for the MICE segment at Andaz London Liverpool Street, I am responsible for reactively securing new Groups and Events Business for the hotel. I work very closely with my colleagues and I share an office with the Sales – Groups and Events Team.

My main areas of responsibility are to respond to enquiries, follow up on leads and conduct Site Inspections. I confirm bookings and increase rooms & events revenue within the MICE/Groups segment from a wide array of various booking channels including corporate companies. I continuously build on client relationships while keeping within the hotels culture and approach to maintain a high level of client loyalty. I am also responsible for ensuring our customer satisfaction goals are met. Occasionally and as required, I assist with the actual planning of the event and thrive on delivering high level, bespoke events with exceeding levels of service.

In my team, we work towards set revenue goals and we need to ensure that we reach both our personal and team targets on a monthly basis. It is a demanding target, but I am the type of person who is really motivated by working towards exceeding my goals!

I report to the Associate Director of Sales, and the role itself falls within the Sales and Marketing division within the hotel. On a regular basis, I conduct site visits as well as attend various networking events at the hotel. The role affords me the opportunity to have onsite client meetings and presentations, and I occasionally carry out fam trips and networking events. I need to stay up to date with market trends and adapt my approach to ensure I am contributing to the implementation of the hotels overall sales strategy. In line with this, I need to continuously upsell to the client to increase hotel and departmental revenue to reach and exceed our goals.

One thing that’s important is the ability to multitask as there are always a number of different things happening at the same time; a good eye for detail also helps with this as does the ability to work to deadlines, targets and under pressure. I find that being an effective communicator helps me be successful as it’s important to actively listen and identify appropriate messages and delivery methods to effectively influence others; this applies to external clients as well as my colleagues within the property. I work very closely with our team of Events Managers and Executives, in order to convert business and achieve our budgets and communicating clearly within the team is really important.
