Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a dedicated, customer service oriented professional to join our Switchboard team as Part-time (Graveyard/Weekend) PBX Telephone Operator .

This position is responsible for taking calls and guest requests, provides information on guest services, and answers inquiries about public hotel events. The PBX Telephone Operator handles high volume of calls.

Duties would include a nswer incoming calls, direct calls to guest rooms, staff, or departments through the switchboard or PBX system, complete wake-up calls, and handle emergency calls using the internal communication system or calling 911.

The starting wage for this position is $16.71/hr; after 6 months wage is $19.50/hr, after 1 year wage is $22.28/hr.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.

Qualifications:
* Must possess a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment. * Must be able to work a flexible schedule and MUST be available to work graveyard, weekends and holidays shifts * Must have previous customer service experience * Must have refined verbal communication skills and excellent phone demeanor * Must have good typing skills * Previous hotel experience is considered an asset * Knowledge of a second language is considered an asset * Must be able to work independently and in a team environment * Must remain calm, pleasant and confident when handling emergency and high volume calls. * Proficient in basic computer skills * Must have excellent organizational skills * Must be able to multi-task Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
* Constant sitting throughout shift * Occasional lifting and carrying up to 15 lbs * Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling * Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
