Hyatt Cindy%27s Operations Manager in CHICAGO, Illinois
The Restaurant Operations Manager is responsible for daily shift leadership and oversight of Cindy’s Rooftop, a high volume rooftop restaurant and bar serving lunch, dinner and late-night seven days per week (brunch on Saturdays and Sundays). Responsible for the overall guest satisfaction of all guests, including walk-in, bar, standing room and terrace guests, as well as table reservations and meal service guests. Will also assist with preparation and execution of private events hosted in private dining and reception areas of the venue during assigned shifts. Daily shift oversight includes all Servers, Bussers, Food Runners, Hosts/Hostesses, Bartenders and Barbacks.
Essential Responsibilities include: * Maintain daily operations by enforcing and ensuring compliance with policies and standard operating procedures; enforcing and guiding production, productivity, quality, and guest-service standards; assist in determining and implementing system improvements * Assist with restaurant financial objectives by adhering to annual forecasts and budgets; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions; monitoring financial controls; assist with the development and implementation of strategies to increase average meal checks * Maintain guest satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings; initiate improvements; build relationships with preferred guests * Assist with selection, training and development of all restaurant team members * Maintain safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with health and legal regulations; maintaining security systems * Assist other restaurant and recreation outlets with day-to-day operational support and leadership as needed. * High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or Sales and Marketing preferred. * Minimum 1 year experience in Food & Beverage management, preferably in a high volume restaurant or lounge * Experience within a full-service boutique or luxury hotel environment preferred. * Must have successful experience adhering to labor and cost controls as well as proactive financial management. * Must display ability to work with general computer operations, including POS software (Micros) as well as table-planning/reservations programs (Open Table) * Experience with web-based communication programs helpful. * Must be able to communicate professionally in English, both written and verbal. * Conversational abilities in other languages helpful. * Ability to display tact and diplomacy in all situations required. * Must be able to move throughout crowded restaurant and bar areas * Must be able to multi-task and display ability to recognize that the guests’ interests and needs are always primary * Must be available to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, late-night, weekends and holidays as business dictates.
