Hyatt Director of Select Service - Openings and Transitions, Asia Pacific in HONG KONG S.A.R., China

Position Summary As Director of Select Service – Openings and Transitions, Asia Pacific, this position will report to Regional Vice President – Openings and Transitions, Asia Pacific. The incumbent will act as the key onsite leader prior to hotel opening, and will be able to provide support, answers, and direction to ensure the Select Service brand standards are implemented in the hotel. While there will be experts in the hotel for each operational area, the selected incumbent is expected to have a basic understanding of the departments, and systems. Another key role will be to ensure that the operating culture, and spirit of a Select Service hotel is fully thriving across all operating platforms. A hands on approach is required for this role.

Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Select Service – Openings and Transitions, Asia Pacific will include: * Establish a productive and effective relationship with the General Manager, Leadership Committee, owner, and owner’s team to understand the project vision, and key commercial terms. * Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources – Openings and Transitions to roll out Guest and Colleague Touchpoints for all pre-opening hotels. * Provide hands on support to ensure Select Service brand standards are implemented as well as act as onsite leader to manage pre-opening processes. * Ensures that the hotels are a true and authentic representation of the relevant brand image as defined by the Hyatt Brand Lens. * Integration of all new team members in Select Service model and Hyatt Culture. * Set-up, support and oversight the trial run plans, team planning, and overall trial run process.

Experience / Competencies * Written and spoken proficiency in Simplified Chinese is preferred due to the growth pipeline in Mainland China * 5 years’ experience working in hotels * Experience in the operation on Select hotels is preferred * Strong Operational experience and has worked in or supported at least 2 hotel openings * Works collaboratively and excellent manager of 3trd party and internal resources * Able to work in a deadline and performance oriented environment * Relates well to all kinds of people up, down, laterally, inside and outside the organization; build appropriate rapport, builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact; can diffuse high-tension situations * Good balance of process and outcomes focus * Comfortable to work independently; self-starter

Education * 4-year College Degree * Educational emphasis on Hotel Operations * Hotel and/or Restaurant Management class completion is a plus

Other Skills and Requirements * Microsoft Office Suite * Fluent in Microsoft Suite of products * Ability to travel extensively * Hands on approach is required
