Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking an experienced, customer service oriented professional to join the Beverage Department as Beverage Manager-Department Head.

The Beverage Manager-Department Head possesses strong leadership, communication and relationship skills. They are expected to support senior leadership and all F&B Managers. This role leads other associates by coaching, giving direction and may include training, scheduling, payroll and interviewing. The Beverage Manager-Department Head must demonstrate fundamental beverage knowledge and ensure that each outlet is equipped with the essential supplies. This position plays a significant role in the overall performance of the beverage outlets, which includes product quality and service standards.

The Beverage Manager-Department Head will report to the Director of Operations. This position will be responsible for the following duties that will include, but not be limited to: * Responsible for the day to day oversight of the F&B Outlets * Responsible for $2Million sales annually * Purchase liquor inventory for all outlets including Banquets * Maintaining accurate and efficient inventory is paramount * Maintain dead stock product to ensure that it is kept to minimum levels. * Maintain an annual hotel liquor cost of 22.8% or lower * Establish monthly / quarterly beverage promotions for all areas. * Work closely with Events managers to increase cash wine sales, and to create group specific promotions * Provide guidance and ensure F&B managers are maintaining inventory and costs on a daily basis. * Ensure inventory is recorded monthly * Educate managers and staff in liquor controls and cost measures * Maintain and update the outlet wine lists, and bar menus * Conduct and follow up on established training for all service staff. * Ensure that all beverage associates follow service standards. * Ensure that all beverage associates are trained and in compliant in proper cash handling procedures. Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.

* Minimum of two years of previous Food & Beverage Management experience * Must have Serving It Right management level certificate * Must have Food Safe certificate * Must be able to work various shifts including weekends and holidays * Previous hotel experience is considered an asset * Previous Opera, PMS and/or Kronos or WMS experience is an asset * Must have good wine, beer and cocktail knowledge * Must have a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment * Must have refined verbal and communication skills * Must have proven ability to manage employees in a unionized environment * Must possess extensive experience and have a thorough understanding of the beverage operation * Must possess a service oriented style with professional presentation skills * Must always demonstrate a positive and professional attitude at all times * Must possess strong leadership skills including mentorship, coaching, training and development, scheduling, business sense, labor costing, and purchasing * The candidate has to be comfortable in taking ownership of a situation and working towards finding positive solutions in a team environment * Knowledge of a second language is an asset Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
* Constant standing and walking throughout shift * Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying a moderate amount of weight * Occasional kneeling and bending * Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps
